| Site Downtime |
And hence the need to move to the new database ASAP! We have literally received so much traffic, that the database could not support the load.

• Three new fields added to the profiles: Ethnicity, Religion, Education. We'll be asking for help soon to help us decide what else to add!
• Navbar now shows when you have New Messages.

• Armed Forces (Pacific, Europe, and America) Zip Codes added.

| Notice to New Users |
We've had a rapid influx of new members recently and I just wanted to point out the Top 10 and His & Her Review areas.
The Top 10 lists are random Top 10 Lists with a twist. Each one has a corresponding Messageboard post. Registered members can add their own Top 10 lists and comments to go with them!
As for the His & Her Reviews, we're going to be reviewing quite a few anime and manga in the near future. We (being adam & agie) will each be adding our own thoughts and review. The compiled score makes up the "AnimeDates" score. Registered users can reply to the corresponding messageboard post and do the same. The user scores are then compiled into lists of males and females, which are averaged to form the user score!
If you've seen an anime or read a manga that we're reviewing, please add your opinion! |

| Site goes public!!! |
Yes, we're officially back from vacation.
On that note, the site will be live by approximately 9pm EDT. Thank you all for your participation while we've been setting the site up. We greatly appreciate it.
For future reference, please point your bookmarks to the official www.animedates.com link.
No updates today since I'm completely jet-lagged. Look for quite a few features done by this weekend, including lots of pics of me and agie. :) |

| Vacation!!! |
Yes, adam and I are going on vacation! We'll be gone from 7/13 through 7/18, so no updates or Image Approvals will take place during that time period. We will make time for anime so there should be a few more reviews up when we return. Really, is it a vacation withOUT anime? Please be patient, we'll be back soon!
In case anyone is interested, we're going to spend a few days in Northwest Florida, in the Tampa area. We're going to be putting up flyers in every city we pass through, so be on the lookout if you're in the neighborhood. [:)] |

• Lots of little updates to speed up site processing.
• His/Her Review's now display the His/Her Review's of our USERS! More reviews coming soon, so we hope you'll all contribute!
• The Inbox properly shows and tracks UNREAD messages
• Bold, Italics, and Underline features added to User Messages.
• Cleaned up the Delete Image feature for users.
• Favorite Users are now displayed when you send messages. You can easily add Favorite Users into your outgoing mail!
• As always, lots of back-end upgrades and fixes, since there won't be much next week... ;)

| Updates from Last Week |
I was so busy over the weekend and with July 4th, that I didn't have a chance to put up the Update listing for the last week.
* The first His/Her Review is up! The reviews on AnimeDates are setup with a special feature. The Messageboards have a New Topic loaded everytime a New Review is added. If you attempt to Reply to this Post, it will bring up a special form where you can enter a rating and add comments about the Anime or Manga! At the top of our review, the system will display an average score based on all user responses and will display your personal score on the Messageboards. If you've seen an Anime or read a Manga that we reviewed, be sure to contribute your thoughts!
* Major overhauls were done on the back-end of the page in order to be more Firefox/Netscape/Safari compliant. More updates are scheduled in this area shortly!
* Favorite Users can be added. This list is maintained in the Preferences area.
* • Support for Bold Text, Underlined Text, and Italicized Text added to the Member-to-Member Messages and Messageboards. (As well as the News and other areas! [:)])
* Updated the Site Logo and Misc other graphics
* Clicking the right-side of the Site Header now points to the correct page of the Site Header Gallery.
* More work was done on the Site Themes. This feature is scheduled to be completely released in a few weeks.
* Three new 'Status' types have been added to the User Profiles: 'Dating', 'Exclusive Relationship', and 'Engaged'.
* As with every week, many minor updates that aren't worth listing were done. Check back often to see AnimeDates evolve! |
