| Anime on the Big Screen |
Funimation has a new division called Funimation Films that will be putting anime in American movie theaters!
Per their website, FUNimation Films will be going nationwide in March at select theaters starting with a double feature of Dragon Ball Z Fusion Reborn and Dragon Ball Z The Return of Cooler. Following that, fans will get the opportunity to catch a sneak peek of the upcoming series Basilisk in April. Our first three months on the big screen will also feature Trinity Blood in May.
The trailers for all of the above anime can be found on their website at the link above. This is yet another very intelligent move that has taken place since the purchase of the company. This is also very good timing, as the Fusion movie is one of the better films of the DBZ series. |

| FINALLY...FINALLY...HARE + GUU! |
Per TRS (RightStuf):
It's official - on December 27th, Animenation will start to unleash the hit comedy Hare + Guu! Originally known as Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu, it's an off-the-wall show about a ten year old boy and his adopted sister...who just happens to be a mind-reading, magic-using delinquent with a whole other universe in her stomach. Sound weird? It is, and if you're a fan of Excel Saga or FLCL, you're gonna want to check it out!
If you haven't seen Hare + Guu...YOU ARE MISSING OUT! I have a feeling we're going to have a new Sweepstakes up VERY soon! |

| Naruto's North American Premiere |
If you haven't already, mark your calendars for next week! Saturday September 10th, Naruto will premiere on TOONAMI at 9pm both Eastern and Pacific (other US Timezones seem to be on the Eastern time schedule). They will play Episodes 1 and 2 back to back, with a repeat at 10pm.
Personally, I'm looking forward to checking out the dub. Some English dubs are done very well and some are done very poorly. Figuring that Naruto is the next American DBZ, I hope VIZ hasn't completely mangled it.
At last update, YTV had delayed the Canadian Naruto premiere again to September 16th at 9:30pm. Canadian members, please check your local listings for the exact time.
If anybody hasn't seen or heard about Naruto, this show is worth checking out. You might not think there's anything exceptional about it after watching the first two episodes, but wait until the story advances. Naruto is easily one of the most anticipated anime to ever hit American shores.

| 2X2=Shinobuden Licensed |
According to ANN, 2X2=Shinobuden was licensed by The Right Stuf International.
Let me just say that this is pretty cool. That's one of those shows that I never expected to be able to own on DVD because I didn't think it would ever be licensed. We'll be sure to do a Giveaway when TRS releases the first volume.
I recommend this title to anybody with a sense of humor. It's like a Ecchi version of Naruto and is one of the few shows that made me literally LAUGH OUT LOUD! More to come (like a review), I'm sure... |
